I added the bulk of this article from my A-level notes about 3 years ago (sorry I didn't footnote them - I'll get around to it at some point, but its mostly Riche and Fichtenau). I'm just curious why it was moved from Charlemagne to a separate article on the government of the Carolingian Empire. The Carolingian Empire continued well after Charlemagne's death, and to call the article this is slightly misleading, as all the information is solely to do with Charlemagne's reign.
