I will contact the firm to see if I may be able to obtain some references upon which to verify current information and expand upon it. Doc2234 (talk) 03:20, 8 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have found some references that are credible third party references. I am working on some WikiProject Musicians related material, and after that I will be able to get to this page.Doc2234 (talk) 23:18, 5 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

I tried to amend some of the following, without success:

"a leading American "situationist" architecture firm based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and founded by Mr. Gund in 1971. ...educated at ... the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (located in George Gund Hall). Notable buildings designed by the firm include the headquarters for the National Association of Realtors in Washington, D.C., the conservatory for the Cleveland Botanical Garden, the Lansburg Theater for the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC, The Fannie Cox Math and Science Center for Friends' Central School in Wynnewood, PA, the synagogue building for Young Israel of Brookline,"

For starters, adjectives, IMO stink. If you have to use them, the article has already failed. Calling them "leading" is almost a sure indication that they aren't. Otherwise, why do you have to say it? I don't have to call Buckminster Fuller or IM Pei "leading" because they are known to be.
"Mr." is clearly a violation of WP:MOS. Honorifics are never allowed in articles. This is just basic stuff here, nothing out of the ordinary.
He couldn't have gone to school in a hall named for himself. (Harvard). This is just plain silly.
That comment is out of line: Gund Hall was named for Graham Gund's father, George Gund II. Acroterion (talk) 02:37, 15 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Almost none of the buildings he has worked on are notable. No article on National Association of Realtors building, just the association. No convervatory for the Cleveland Botanical Garden, just the Botanical Garden itself. This does leave the Lansburg Theater as notable, one among a very few. The Fannie Cox building is not notable, nor the synagogue for Young Israel. In short, this is mainly WP:SPAM for the architect or for the associations. This article should most likely be deleted. The number of actual buildings that are notable are negligible.
So you're citing Wikipedia's coverage as grounds for notability or lack thereof? Acroterion (talk) 18:21, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
There are policies. They should be followed! Student7 (talk) 16:01, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
My concern is not with all of the changes that you intend to put in place; it is with the deletion of his and the firm's projects of which some may be notable through awards that have not been adequately researched. There is no harm in listing any or all of the projects that he and the firm have accomplished. The descriptive adjectives might just be changed. I agree about the MOS issues. The other concern that I have is that architectural trade publications may not be among the list of potential references that are being researched. Gund's work has been noteworthy to the extent that that sort of coverage could be anticipated. The Architectural Record is a good start. I have also found information about projects in the Boston Globe and the Washington Post. Could you possibly work with me to improve the Graham Gund page? My time is limited, and possibly if we share duties, we could revise language and put in some good references? Gund Hall at Harvard, where the Graduate School of Design is located, is named after Graham Gund's father. Doc2234 (talk) 17:19, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sorry. I am a patroller. I write occasional articles but rarely bios. Student7 (talk) 20:59, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
It may be worthwhile for you to offer to help Acroterion and myself build this article. You may gain some experience in writing bios. Please consider pitching in to help. Doc2234 (talk) 23:35, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
If you can't be bothered to write the article, Student7, don't bother to nominate it for deletion. That is simply appalling for an article that is obviously not hopeless. We should focus the deletion discussion at the AfD page, and then proceed on how to improve it. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 03:31, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
