Economic history of Grand Junction
editThis section needs a lot of tweaking. Citations needed, especially for the last part about the uranium mining (possibly add something about the mill tailings, needs to be a different section) probably reorganize so the dates are in order. (put nuclear age before the oil bust?.. would take a total re-write)
Well, it was simple to add a few basic economic facts that we know are true. Uranium mining related activity, retail sales, healthcare and education have all been important for decades. Mesa State, SD #51, and St. Mary`s Hospital have been important employers for many years.Jack B108 (talk) 01:26, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
wineries
editI think this statement is a little low on how much it has changed
"In recent years, several wineries have been established in the area as well."
I personally have seen the area change from lots of fruit fields to wine, grapes and housing. If you talk to the older residents, they even will tell you about the changes they have seen. Not sure how to put this in the article though.
Demographics don't add up!
edit"makeup of the city was 91.78% ... Hispanic or Latino of any race were 10.86% of the population." That makes 102.64%!! How can that be?! If you add the other populations in, it is even more off. Unless, the same person is count as being more than one race. Is this the case?!!
Economic History mess
editWhat Jesse Haun have to do with economic history of Grand Junction, and why are there no citations? It's going to get deleted for now until a good reason is posted on how that was on Economic History. --Keys37 15:15, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
Home Rule Municipality?
editWhere is the information about Grand Junction being a home-rule municipality? 184.166.15.172 (talk) 07:39, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
Museum of Western Colorado
editI added the section on the Museums of Western Colorado to this page for several reasons. For one, it is probably the best resource for tourists and visitors in the town to visit and get a sense of the history of Grand Junction and the surrounding areas. I am a longtime patron, and former employee, of the museum system and know it is always striving to be a value to the community and to bring community involvement to history and preservation in GJ as much as possible.
The museum bring in guest speakers, authors and historians to the valley, and provide services such as rental halls, field trips and weddings to the town. The museum is a vital part of telling Grand Junction's history, and I think it needed to be mentioned on the general wikipedia page for the town. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Clarissc (talk • contribs) 04:26, 13 April 2016 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Grand Junction, Colorado
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Grand Junction, Colorado's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

SEMI-pro professional football team?
editin the Sports section, I am questioning that there is a semiprofessional football team still based in Grand Junction. Your thoughts? I haven't heard anything about this team in the local news in 2022, so I am thinking that they went defunct. Jack.B.2007 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 20:35, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
