Change the release to Mid-Late when Fall actually starts

edit

Having the release window say “late” 2025 is disingenuous. When it’s coming out Fall/Autumn 2025 or Mid-Late 2025 not Late 2025 S7Nightmare (talk) 05:36, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Fall runs from late September to late December in the United States; "late 2025" seems to cover that period appropriately to me (and is acceptable per MOS:SEASON). Rhain (he/him) 05:44, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Fall starts in late September and ends in late November. Winter begins late November/early December and ends February-March… I don’t know where you think fall runs through December because it never has gone through late December S7Nightmare (talk) 05:51, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Fall seems to suggest otherwise. Regardless, even September to November is still "late 2025". Rhain (he/him) 05:56, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
It’s mid-late 2025 November-December is late 2025. January-March is early 2025. March-June is early-mid 2025. June-August is Mid 2025. September-November is Mid-late 2025. And November-December is Late 2025 S7Nightmare (talk) 06:00, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
That seems incredibly complicated and notably uneven. "Early" is January to April, "mid" is May to August, and "late" is September to December. Rhain (he/him) 06:06, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
It was an example I used… it’s roughly like that give or take… but fall is in mid-late 2025 not late 2025 saying that is disingenuous and lying to the fans who come to the wiki looking for info about the game making them think it’s coming later than it actually is(as of right now unless it gets an unforeseen delay in the future). As it stands the game is releasing in fall 2025 or mid-late 2025. S7Nightmare (talk) 06:08, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Fall runs from September to December; that makes it "late 2025". It seems accurate to me. Rhain (he/him) 06:10, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Fall runs from September to November never late December… it’s not accurate at all… that’s like saying Christmas is in early 2026 because winter goes into the next year… S7Nightmare (talk) 06:14, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
The astronomical season runs to late December, but even by your definition, Fall runs from September to November; that's still "late 2025". It's still accurate. Rhain (he/him) 06:17, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Again no it’s not accurate following your logic then Christmas 2025 isn’t in late 2025 no it’s in early 2026 since winter is mostly in early 2026 S7Nightmare (talk) 06:22, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Christmas is in December, which, as I stated above, is in "late 2025". When winter 2025 starts has no impact on when "late 2025" ends. Rhain (he/him) 06:25, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I’m using your logic of you saying fall is late 2025… so no by YOUR own logic it would be early 2026 not late 2025 as winter goes into 2026. I’m just following your own logic S7Nightmare (talk) 06:28, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid you've misunderstood. "Fall" is within "late 2025", but they are not the same. Hopefully a table can clarify my point.
Month Tercile Quartile Season (north)
Astronomical Meteorological
January Early Q1 Winter[a] Winter
February
March Spring
April Q2 Spring[b]
May Mid
June Summer
July Q3 Summer[c]
August
September Late Fall
October Q4 Fall[d]
November
December Winter

Notes

  1. ^ 21 December – 20 March
  2. ^ 20 March – 21 June
  3. ^ 21 June – 22 September
  4. ^ 22 September – 21 December
Whether we're talking the astronomical or meteorological season, Fall is always within "late 2025"—as is Christmas. Rhain (he/him) 06:45, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Again that is incorrect. Christmas is in the winter… which is in Late 2025 or by your logic early 2026… fall 2025 is simply mid-late 2025 its that simple S7Nightmare (talk) 06:57, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
By my "logic", Christmas 2025 is still in "late 2025". See "December" in the table above. Rhain (he/him) 07:00, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
No.. you say that fall is late 2025 when it’s mid-late 2025 so yes by your logic Christmas is early 2026 instead of late 2025 S7Nightmare (talk) 07:11, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
You still misunderstand, but I'm not sure I can make it any clearer than the table above. "Late 2025" is September to December, which encompasses the entirety of Fall and the beginning of Winter. "Early 2026" starts on 1 January 2026. Rhain (he/him) 07:17, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
That table of your logic proves my point… because with your logic Christmas is in early 2026 since Christmas is in the WINTER not fall…. S7Nightmare (talk) 07:29, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Follow the table horizontally. Christmas is in December, December is in Winter, Winter starts in "late 2025"; therefore, Christmas is in "late 2025". I can't be any clearer with this. (Not that it should matter, since GTA VI isn't scheduled for Christmas anyway.) Rhain (he/him) 07:40, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
No no you said “winter starts January 1st 2026” so yes by your logic Christmas is early 2026 and that chart you made also states that all of December is in the fall… S7Nightmare (talk) 07:56, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've never said that (and would prefer if you didn't misquote me), nor does the table suggest it. Fall ends on either 30 November or 21 December (dependent on reckoning); that's not just "my logic", it's objectively true. I suggest you read the table in full, footnotes and all. Rhain (he/him) 08:07, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Dude it’s not a miss quote it’s a literal quote that you said only a couple replys ago… even having it as “late 2025” is more complicated then just saying “fall/autumn 2025” or “mid-late 2025” which is accurate unlike “late 2025” this is the only place of gta 6 media that says “late 2025”… but then again you think winter starts at January… S7Nightmare (talk) 08:13, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
No, it appears you've misread my comments (though please quote the timestamp if I'm mistaken). "Fall" or "Autumn" should be avoided per MOS:SEASON, and "mid-late 2025" is potentially misleading and confusing; "late 2025" is still the most logical, in my opinion. Rhain (he/him) 08:23, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
It was at the very end of the 07:17, 9 August 2024 (UTC) reply you made, saying late 2025 is just misleading most people associate late 2025 with December/christmas/winter. Which is why mid-late fits more it’s more associated with the end of summer and the beginning of fall, the beginning of the last couple months of the year S7Nightmare (talk) 08:44, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
No, you definitely misread; I wrote "Early 2026" starts on 1 January 2026, not winter. If readers associate "late 2025" with December, that's on them; if that's what we meant, we would write "Q3" or "December" instead. "Late 2025" remains the most accurate and logical. Rhain (he/him) 09:10, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

The release date has been leaked and it is reported to be October 27th 2025 2A01:4B00:C104:1200:E10B:642E:7A64:F6E0 (talk) 20:23, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Do you have a source to back this up? SleepDeprivedGinger (talk) 21:29, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
The "leak" is based on an IMDb listing and hasn't really been widely reported. Seems insignificant. Rhain (he/him) 21:56, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Insignificant seems rather subjective but still I agree just going by the IMDb page is hardly official. Ric36 (talk) 14:51, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Of course it's subjective; nobody claimed otherwise. Rhain (he/him) 22:10, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

heaven 17 - rockstar conflict, relevant enough to be included?

edit

there's been recent headlines/bunch of twitter discussion about the band heaven 17 turning down rockstar's $7.5k offer to use one of their songs in the game. quite vulgarly so.[1]

i'm not personally sure if this is relevant enough to the game itself to be included in the article, what do you guys think? Mousou No Sonzai (talk) 14:19, 8 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I've been considering this too. If it leads to any further discussion about the game, its music, or its budget, then perhaps it would be worth including, but for now I'm not so sure. In any case, I've added the information to the song's article, where it seems a little more relevant for the time being. Rhain (he/him) 23:06, 8 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
It's an interesting tidbit of trivia for sure but I agree it's not necessarily notable enough to include in this article. Good thinking on adding it to the song's article however. Ric36 (talk) 14:02, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
