This page is a good start, but perhaps needs some discussion and work?

It seems that some of the headings here apply more to functions within graphic design, rather than actual occupations.

Also, perhaps we need to do some research among different countries, as the job titles do seem to be different everywhere. Someone with recruitment experience might be better to deal with this than me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bonzobonce (talk • contribs)

I reverted the changes from anonymous user 131.232.7.126 in regards to "higher category." They are not job titles, corporate hierarchies, nor career paths. It's organized based on related skill sets. Some organization is better than none. Oicumayberight (talk) 18:13, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

This page has huge problems

Many of these job titles have little to do with graphic design in practice or even in theory. The titles and job descriptions appear to have few or no references - let alone authoritative sources. Much of it appears to be subjective interpretation from a single perspective. For example, the stuff under 'Hands-On Graphic Designer' is simply a list of 'some things that some graphic designers might do in some circumstances, maybe or maybe not'.

The stuff under 'Graphic art managers' is also fairly random. Yes Creative Directors and Art Directors exist as job titles. But those descriptions are context-free and meaningless as they stand. 'Art production manager' is a new one on me and appears to be a combination of 'Studio Manager', Design Manager and… who knows what else.

Look, this is a very difficult topic. But this page isn't helping. There is some academic (albeit not much) research on this topic out there in Google Scholar land. In the meantime, the page has limited value and in many cases is simply incorrect and misleading. Danilelop (talk) 12:03, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
