It seems around 2005 there was a highly succesfull NZ company by the name of Grasshopper Ltd. who had international success with their software ImageAlign. The IA plugin for Photoshop cost around $200-300, whereas the standalone version cost c. $3,000. What it mainly did was remove barrel distortion due to fisheye lenses from photos on a professionel level (see an example on the right). Sources: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]. The company's site was at http://www.grasshopperonline.com (last working WayBack snapshot dated 5 March 2007), and the site for its product was http://www.imagealign.com/?f (last working Wayback snapshot dated 17 August 2007).
