Role as opening song

edit

The current article says

Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey had written a different title track for Grease for its original version in Chicago. It was discarded when the show was picked up on Broadway and has only been heard once since that time.[2]

The linked-to article says

The opening number in the show I want isn’t “Summer Nights,” but “Foster Beach” (yes, that Foster Avenue Beach).

Here, 'opening number' really means 'first number': SN/FB doesn't open (start) the show, it occurs a short way into it after plenty of dialogue. So there was no opening song and the film's title track replaces nothing.

Secondly, there is nothing in the linked article about the song being only used once since. The wording would have to be changed anyway, since "has only been heard once since that time" sounds like it means heard anywhere on the planet for any reason.

I suggest the introduction change to:

Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey's original Chicago version of Grease did not start with a song, with Foster Beach being the first song in the show.[2]

September 2020 improvement suggestions

edit
  1. Check all the cover versions: each one needs a reliable source. Should be listed chronologically (year) required for some. Was the Bee Gees featuring Frankie Valli live version also a cover version?
  2. Production section does not even mention the producers. They're in the infobox but not elsewhere.
  3. Reception section gives only US charting. Why focus on R&B charting when other chart positions in other markets are more notable? The section should also provide critical analysis of the track including its significance to the film. Film director's opinion should be down here?shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 01:37, 7 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
