Release Date??
editOfficial site says April 1st, but Blabbermouth says March 18, Rhino Records Official Site is yet to say. Sooner the better, but I guess we have to go with the official website for now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blackngold29 (talk • contribs) 03:10, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Title
editAccording to the press release it is Dream Theater's Greatest Hit (...and 21 Other Pretty Cool Songs). The page was move to Greatest Hit (...and 21 Other Pretty Cool Songs), the MP.com forums were cited, but I can't find where it is stated that "Dream Theater's" is not included in the title (unless you are taking the cover art literally); help me out or I think it should be moved back...Blackngold29 (talk) 16:11, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- I was indeed taking the cover art literally since, well, that is the most obvious reference point. For comparison, see list of albums titled Greatest Hits. Although, you are right about the press release and it would of course be rather silly to repeat the band name there in the cover, so... I don’t really know. I guess in time the discography at the official website will tell. If, in the meanwhile, you want to move it back, I won’t mind. Kooma (di algo) 17:56, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- I like your idea about waiting for the official site's discography, there's no sense in changing it back, and then back again. Blackngold29 (talk) 19:24, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
The album has been listed in the discography over at the offical site as: Greatest Hit (...and 21 other pretty cool songs). I think it should be renamed as such, with the "other pretty cool songs" all lowercase. Blackngold29 (talk) 22:43, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- I say we leave it like that, per WP:TITLE. Hetcenus (Talk) 02:11, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
Asterisk?
editWhat's with the asterisk appended to the title? // Gargaj (talk) 14:24, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
A Joke?
editApril 1st its fools day. it may be just a MP joke. the red letters " s hit" an the cover its too much of a joke it self. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jchahin13 (talk • contribs) 08:09, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- Though your point is valid, we need a reliable source to back up the claim before putting it in the article. Una LagunaTalk 18:33, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
nope, its all over Australia, no joke here :D —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coheed56 (talk • contribs) 03:03, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Track Lenghts
editHey if all tracks come from albums, then it's considerable to put the track leghts. I actually have the single edits of the tracks marked as, so I'll put their leght. I actually don't know the official lenghts of the 2007 remixes so I won't put them. Hfcxxx (talk) 22:41, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- I actually didn't put Octavarium tracks' lenghts because some of them have negative times. I don't know if there will be re-edition of the songs to remove the negative times or something. Hfcxxx (talk) 22:51, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Leak?
editare you sure there was a leak? we need evidence of that, too, i should think. Exacerbation (talk) 14:05, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've removed the offending sentence until someone can give us a reliable source backing the statement up. Thanks for pointing it out. Una LagunaTalk 17:05, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- It is available as a torrent download at the pirate bay. Hfc2x (talk) 16:59, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
The Two seagulls represent past keyboardists?
editI have marked this as required with a citation
- The two seagulls that appear on the cover represent Kevin Moore and Derek Sherinian, past Dream Theater keyboardists that appear on the album [citation needed].
there is currently no source that says this
- This and one other point in this section are pure original research. I'll remove them per WP policy. Una LagunaTalk 21:43, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Release date
editI purchased the CD today in Australia, (March 29th) so its not a joke and the remixed versions as well as solitairy shell have different times. See, in albums they merged songs into each other, meaning the compilation is not merged to avoid confusion. from user: coheed56
ps. The album has many edited versions, taking out extended solos and so forth, so it has been cut down —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coheed56 (talk • contribs) 03:02, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- I have already listened to the album, an he's right... Some songs are cut. That's why I didn't put Octavarium songs' lenght, but someone did. I knew they were going to edit them. Also it is not officially listed as, but "The Test that Stumped Them All" is the Radio Version. Hfcxxx (talk) 03:36, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah they really should have just left it alone —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coheed56 (talk • contribs) 23:13, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Compilation?
editWow! 17 out of 22 songs are re-edited in this album! Looks like they did more than only compile the songs... Is good to listen to different versions of the songs, that makes me feel happy LOL. Hfcxxx (talk) 21:54, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Epic Side?
editSeriously, can someone verify that? I'm not sure that's true.--69.113.231.176 (talk) 23:21, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
