Articles should use the exact name of their subjects for titles, followed by any disambiguating characteristics in parentheses. What I can't tell from the article is how "Φ/Γ Έλλας" should be transliterated. So should the title be "F/G Hellas", "Hellas (ship)", "Hellas (frigate)", or "Greek frigate Hellas" (with lowercase "f")? Cmprince 21:22, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I also struggled with the title of articles about decomissioned ships of the Hellenic Navy when I started writing articles about these ships. This (Greek [vessel type] name) was the structure I found in place and continued it for the simple reason that in the Greek navy tradition, there is no equivalent of USS or HMS and often the ship names repeat, but as the fleet evolved, so did the naming conventions. Thus, I would not change the name of the article as the ship is known in Greek as the "Frigate Hellas". Argos'Dad 21:51, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Androutsos

edit

Odysseas Androutsos is mentioned as one of three Admirals who received the ship in 1826. There must have been a confusion with someone else, since Androutsos was not an Admiral, but a General, and already dead by that time (murdered in 1825). Cplakidas 22:47, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

You are, of course, correct. The source is from a newsletter citing an email from a Nicholas Scorinis, who says it is contained in "The Navy in the History of Greece." Do you have this book? I am not sure who the other Admiral would be... Argos'Dad 02:40, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
