Why does this not apply to marrying USA Citizens?
editWhy does this not apply to marrying US Citizens, but only residents? Wouldn't it make more sense to have a marriage of immigration convenience from being married to a citizen? It could take only 2 months for a green card. As opposed to several years from being married to a resident.
Further, a reference is made to the movie "Green Card" as an example to this phenomenon. However, this is incorrect. The woman in this movie was not a resident, but a citizen. In fact, moving to France made her and expatriated citizen. Not a resident in any sense of the term.... Unggoydiyos (talk) 02:46, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
- The CIS article talks about citizens, so, yes, you have a point.--Jack Upland (talk) 09:20, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
