Does the title really fit?
editI am wondering if the title of the article might need to be changed a bit, as it's not just about emissions but also about removing carbon sinks, isn't it? Should it perhaps rather be: "Contributions of agriculture to climate change"? Or perhaps be split in two so that one is only about GHG emissions, and the other one about the land use changes aspect? - Coming back to my own comment one year later: I am thinking now the article's title is probably OK. But I'd like to ping a couple of people who might have an opinion about this, and about the article's quality in general? Pinging User:InformationToKnowledge, User:Chidgk1. - I took a bit of a break after finally shepherding my first GA through. Since it seems like nobody else commented, I'll note what I can.
- Mainly, I would just note that the first carbon dioxide section could certainly be less bare-bones, while soil erosion section is problematic because it doesn't actually explain its material in terms of CO2 emissions (whether directly or as an indirect equivalent measure). Other than that, it looks acceptable on its surface. There are probably many more ways it can be improved if one were to do a deep dive, but it is probably not the top priority for this yet. - You're right about that soil erosion section. I have moved it now to Environmental impact of agriculture. There is probably some CO2 emissions aspects that go together with the soil erosion but this needs to be added with some detail. EMsmile (talk) 15:48, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
Consolidated content about livestock GHG emissions from 2 articles
editI've just consolidated content about livestock farming's GHG emissions from 2 other articles into this one, and then brought it back to the other two by using an excerpt with 4 paragraphs: I took content from Effects of climate change on livestock and Environmental impacts of animal agriculture.
@User:InformationToKnowledge can you please have a look over this new section? I think it needs a bit more condensing (removing some of the older data?) but I couldn't decide what to cut out. Could you also please ensure that the first four paragraphs contain everything that the excerpts for the other two articles would need. The first two paragraphs are actually what you had written at Effects of climate change on livestock, so that'll be good and up to date.
Also pinging User:Chidgk1 in case he has time to take a look as well. EMsmile (talk) 10:26, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- No sorry the forestry stuff is going to keep me busy for a long time Chidgk1 (talk) 16:50, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- OK, I'm really glad you have taken that forestry stuff on! It's so important in relationship to CC mitigation! So thank you. EMsmile (talk) 17:48, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
