Bias
editRE:
This shows the hypocrisy of Combet and the broader union movement in the claims of helping the people and fighting the Liberal Party. Instead of running in a marginal seat to try and win seats to help the ALP win government, Combet has been dropped into a safe seat so he can spend the last of his working days earning a substantial income at the taxpayer's expense, whether the ALP win or lose the election.
Surely this is an opinion from whoever added these words: they are not supported by the cited reference.

university?
editThe page lists his alma mater, but I'm kind of curious on what he studied. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.110.247.129 (talk) 17:26, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
What an utterly bizarre paragraph...
editStart para - Combet is a director of the Chifley Research Institute. He keeps caged birds. - end para. Wtf? Timeshift (talk) 14:06, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Is Atheism a Religion?
editI thought under the heading Religion: you would put - Catholic, etc but Atheist? I'm not sure you would classify that as a Religion as such - what do others think? —Preceding unsigned comment added by CanberraBulldog (talk • contribs) 08:47, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
I put this discussion here to discuss whether Atheism is a Religion, what I meant is should it be put in the Religion column on the side bar? I think it should be put in the article. Being an Atheist means you have no Religion, you do not believe in God, etc - it's not like you go to Church and discuss/pary/worship non -Gods, I believe it is important to put down it in Mr Combet's page/article, this is why I first started this discussion, no one replied so I deleted the Religion sidebar, what do others think? —Preceding unsigned comment added by CanberraBulldog (talk • contribs) 22:22, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
I tend to think that where that box says "Religion" it should actually say something more like "Religious position". Because while Atheism is not a religion, it is nonetheless a standpoint of religious position. If mentioning what faith someone has is important enough to be a standard feature of the bio box, then it's important to list their position accurately, even if they are an agnostic or an atheist (despite the fact that these are not teligions), because what matters here is the insight into the person knowing this detail grants. edit- Combet pushes global climate deal by Paul Osborne, AAP Senior Political Writer, November 25, 2011 - 4:54PM, excerpt ...
On the sidelines, Mr Combet will be holding talks with European, New Zealand and Asian counterparts about linking Australia's emissions trading scheme (ETS), to start in 2015, with other carbon markets. The minister said he was hopeful China - which is piloting ETS in seven different cities - could move to a national ETS as early as 2015, giving it the world's largest carbon market. Laws to put a price on carbon from July 1, 2012, passed parliament in early November.

There is an RfC on the question of using "Religion: None" vs. "Religion: None (atheist)" in the infobox on this and other similar pages.
The RfC is at Template talk:Infobox person#RfC: Religion infobox entries for individuals that have no religion.
Please help us determine consensus on this issue. --Guy Macon (talk) 19:38, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
