I see someone else is now working on this so I'll just point out here that The Secret Archives of the Vatican has lots more info, starting with this page. Yngvadottir (talk) 17:33, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

"Tower of the Winds" seems to be a recognized name for the structure, it should be emboldened.

Second stage

edit

You refer to this as the second stage of improvements. However, as it is presented, this is only the first stage of improvements, although it is the second stage of construction. This tense should be altered throughout the article.

Third stage

edit

"...donations from Hicks of London, and the automatic..." Is/was this a fellow observatory, another scholastic/academic institution, an individual, or another entity?
"...were procured from Richard in Paris." I ask the same question as above.

^It is difficult to clarify this. This book reference [1] also gives the names as "Hicks of London" and "Richard of Paris" only with no more details of who they were. I have done a lot of Google search but could come out with this reference [2] which only vaguely mentions "Amy Hick of London." I could not get any link to 'Richard of Parsi'. In view of this, the second sentence could be changed to read "High quality instruments including the automatic recording instruments were procured, partly with generous donations."

Conclusion

edit

This was a fascinating article to review. Once everything of matter is fixed, it shall pass as a GA. Congratulations! QatarStarsLeague (talk) 01:14, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • I have collaborated with Dr. Blofeld on many articles including this. I have addressed all issues except the names of donors of instruments "Hicks of London" and "Richards of Paris". I have suggested an alternative formulation, if you agree, for incorporation in the article. Thanks for the review.--Nvvchar. 05:38, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Given the book references, the sentence may remain unaltered, just so long as you place the reference mentioned above directly after the sentence in question. QatarStarsLeague (talk) 12:07, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks both! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 07:45, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
