editUser:Demetrios1993 deleted turkish name Grenebe that it was the longest used name for city that used for 600 years The turkish name is deleted because of the Turkish name is not important enough to be included in the first sentence as an alternative name--3210 (talk) 08:16, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
- @3210: First of all, do you understand that this article is about the regional unit of Grevena, that was established in 2011? This was also pointed out to you in my edit summary (diff), part of which you copied and pasted above, misleadingly. Second, it doesn't work like that, otherwise for every Greek village, town, and city that also existed during Ottoman times, we would also include the respective Ottoman name in the first sentence (of all sections that could go instead); but we don't. Even if it wasn't a regional unit of Greece that was established in 2011, the inclusion or exclusion of a name narrows down to consensus; per MOS:ALTNAME. Let's take Istanbul as an example. If we follow your rationale, the Greek name (or names) should have also been included in the first sentence, but it isn't (or they aren't). Demetrios1993 (talk) 01:46, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
