What is it?

edit

I see that the article is just started, but I think the definition is too vague for an article. Sled dog racers do talk about "Greysters" but they always seem to mean something different. The way this article starts seems to imply regular breeding to produce a breed (for sale to the insatiable rare breed pet market?) instead of the carefully organised and documented crossbreeding through multiple generations done by breeders of the Eurohound/Scandinavian Hound to produce an exact type of running dog.

I looked online and only found blogs and forums, and they all speak of it differently. A forum mention of a dog "that the Czechs call Greyster, mostly GSP with a bit of English Pointer and a bit of Greyhound" and another site that refers to Greysters as a name used by sled dog racers for the English Pointer. Another says Pulka racers crossed Vorshters (Scandinavian pointers used for racing) with Greyhounds to produce a Greyster, "good limited class dog suitable for breeding back to the more traditional Pointer crosses". etc.

Unless there is good info in books or magazines it probably shouldn't be an article here, as the definition is too vague.--Hafwyn (talk) 21:01, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Overall:   Good to go, @Annwfwn: Thanks for improving the article, appreciate your work. It was poorly defined and struggling with its notability. The article is at 5x now [ expanded to characters 3227 from 508], expansion began 1 edit ago on April 30, 2023. QPQ not applicable as it is second DYK. RV (talk) 13:11, 2 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I removed the stub tag from the article. The tag was probably there before the 5 times expansion. A stub is not eligible for DYK. Lightburst (talk) 17:27, 2 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
