Questioning Reference to Vietnam War
editI have asked for evidence for the claim that Lambrakis and his party made protests against the Vietnam War a key focus of their political work. Recall that Lambrakis died in mid-1963, before the asassination of John F. Kennedy, at a time when the US presence in Vietnam was modest compared to the subsequent massive escalation under Lyndon B. Johnson. It would have been prescient, if not anachronistic, for a European political party to have been paying much attention to Vietnam that early in the game. Nandt1 11:39, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- We should indeed ask for some evidence. However note that the French were involved long before that. It's not always about the US. There were probably some other things we could note about this movement given better research. It woudl be interesting to research how much people knew about US and Western involvement in Vietnamese affairs, which goes back long before what we call the Vietnam war - much of it not very nice. Description of death
editUh.. the description of his death is hilariously taken from the film Z, while in reality is some sort of a mystery. He was hit by this small vehicle (in front of more than 100 people) but the autopsy showed his death was because of wound in his head. Can someone fix it?
Mikis theodarakis
editThe article says that theodarakis is the secretary of the organisation and at the bottom of the page, president of the organisation. There is a contradiction... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.7.126.236 (talk) 00:25, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

About his murder
editOn May 22, 1963, the (then) EDA member of parliament Grigoris Lambrakis dies in Thessaloniki. Coming out of an event organized by EDA and while he was turning towards the gendarmes who were there, a tricycle driven by Kotzamanis passes by him and Manolis Emmanouilidis who was in the cart hits him on the head. Lambrakis is taken to Erythros with the escort of EDA and later KKE MP Giorgos Veros where he dies.
As the tricycle passes, Lambrakis falls down among his people. One of them, Manolis Chatziapostolou, the chosen one and "Tiger" jumps on the tricycle cart and tangles with Emmanuelidis. There is thus a mix-up in the escape plan of the tricycle and thus both the one who hit Lambrakis and the driver of the vehicle are arrested. Manolis Chatziapostolou or Tigris, was the one who jumped on the tricycle and actually caught those who hit Lambrakis. Towards the end of his life, he gives an impressive interview to ET-1. There, for the first time, he says something shocking: LAMBRAKIS WAS KILLED BY THE COMMUNISTS. He also mentions a name: The murderer of Lambrakis is Verros! Executive of the EDA then and later of the KKE. He reports that he was beaten professionally. With a rubber bag or a bag filled with sand in the car that took him to the hospital. He requests that this interview be published after his death. He is afraid that mud will be thrown at him. A lifelong leftist, he doesn't want his comrades to call him a traitor, at least not while he's alive.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAyunPyNvxc&t=3s Mitrkatsa (talk) 22:48, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
