Presumeably it was once the full name (Democratic People's Republic of Korea). In any case, I've moved it; the # wikisyntax numbers them automatically. —Cryptic (talk) 11:16, 6 October 2005 (UTC)

The website of the G77 has a list of 132 members. China is on that list. Other sources say there are 133 members. Also, you can find references to the g77 of 132 members, but with China participating without being a member. It looks like the G77 had 132 members, then China joined, then another country left. And on the website of the UN, I found a communiqué de press http://www.un.org/News/fr-press/docs/2003/DEV2449.doc.htm that says: " le Groupe des 77 et de la Chine (G77), qui compte à présent 135 pays en développement" Michaël 17:44, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Mexico

I know this is a UN grouping and therefore is not editable or discussable on wikipedia but I find it absolutely crazy that Mexico is not on the list as it is an extremley impovrished country and is underdeveloped. What even suprises me more is that Mexico is not on the list while Argentina is. Argentina has the highest GDP per capita in Latin America and is a very developed country. I don't consider any country developed who has citizens that put their lives at a very very great risk to escape a country to make $7 dollars an hour but thats my opinion.

Tne entire organization is worthless and a waste of money for all involved. There is no value for Mexico in becoming a member.

Vivaperucarajo, according to the World Bank, Mexico has the highest GDP per capita in Latin America (check the World Bank web page), Mexico is the 12th place in GDP (PPP) of the world (Mexico has an economy of more than 1 trillion dollars) and it is also considered one of the few developing countries that can be put in the Newly industrialized countries category. Those countries can't get the status of first world nations but are more advanced than most third world nations (This doesn't mean that Mexico isn't considered a Third World country or Developing nation). In the Human Development Index Mexico is under the "high development index". About the emmigrants, that's another story. Flags

I've removed all the flags from the list of countries. They really don't add anything to the page, and it took a long time on my broadband connection to load the page. Perhaps just congestion on the image server, but why have them anyway? What do they add? –RHolton≡– 04:17, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Romania

How come the map shows Romania as part of the G77, when Romania is not listed under the 130 names?

Romania is not part of the G77 group. I have made a request at Commons, and I hope the image will be modified or deleted. --Mocu 21:06, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

G-7 was NOT a model for G-77

It [the G-77] is modelled on the Group of 7, which now contains 8 countries.

The G-77 was founded in 1964 while the G-7 was a response to the 1973 oil crisis. If one of the two served as a model, it was the G-77. If no one objects, I shall erase this sentence. Treos 15:21, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

• Oppose. With the current trend in the international economy and increasing role of countries in the third world, I think G24 hold its special provision. What is required is to make the article as per the standards of Wikipedia. A separate article on G24 and a sub-head about G24 in the article on G77 are both desirable. Vietnam

Why is Vietnam shaded under two colours, as if it were still divided into north and south? This erroneous representation is misleading, and seriously needs to be corrected. Le Anh-Huy (talk) 06:09, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
