Welsh origin?
editUser:Thesouthernhistorian45 asserted that the surname "Guest" has a Welsh origin. This does not agree with a wide variety of other sources of surname origins. The common view among these is that "Guest" is an old English surname (actually, one of the oldest), deriving ultimately from Old Norse "gestr", a visitor or stranger. The name is attested widely across Britain (see for example http://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Guest). I have therefor reverted this change. FredV (talk) 12:42, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
