Liechtenstein?

edit

This seems very odd that Khous may ha ve Liechtenstein nationality. First of all, Khous is French without any doubt, being born in Paris and having pent almost his entire lifetime in France, but the article shows no evidence why he may possess such a peculier nationality as well. I am removing it while waiting for supporting sources. Alexandre Hocquet (talk) 16:08, 2 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Alexandre Hocquet: I found this player and asked myself the same question, and I found an interview with him in Spanish: he indeed confirms that he has some distant origins in Liechtenstein and played one friendly match for the U-17 team — NickK (talk) 23:52, 14 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks @NickK:. Indeed, this is now crystal clear that Guillaume Khous is actually a Liechensteiner. Alexandre Hocquet (talk) 03:38, 15 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Or not. Given his comments I believe he did not make any formalities related to his Liechtenstein citizenship, and most likely has a French passport only. While he seems to be eligible to receive a Liechtenstein passport, he clearly does not want one — NickK (talk) 10:30, 15 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
@NickK: you're once again right, it is not stated as such explicitely in the source. Now, given how easily a football federation can intercede for a player they desire to be granted papers and given that it's not very plausible to play an official (if friendly) international fixture without some official document of some sort proving your nationality, Guillaume has probably had the nationality at some point, but you're right that we're not certain that he is a Liechensteiner now. Actually, this raises the issue that in France, a lot of football players are named "from country X" even though they are fully French nationals (born in France and all), just because thay have been capped by said country at some point in their career. Needless to say, the countries I am alluding to are not in the same continent as Liechenstein, and yes, I am hinting at rampant racism in Wikipedia leads, but I digress. His U17 cap with Liechtenstein has been removed from Transfermarkt :

I removed all these informations as all this is a "big error" according to the player himself. There is an interview but it was made in French by a Spanish-speaker who is not a journalist (so maybe a translation error or even a intentional false information) on a website that cannot be considered as a secondary source. It seems user-generated. Frenchl (talk) 11:46, 7 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
