Can somebody change the caption

Can someone change the caption of the picture that says: Top is vocal... From left to right: Guitar, Drums, Bass To From left to right: Bass, Drums, Guitar because the image is showing the gameplay of Rebel Yell by Billy Idol, which if you watch the video you see that the instrument to the left has a sixth note which means it has to be bass. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Acezee (talkcontribs) 02:36, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

A graph showing the bands and songs

Yeah some may say it's unneeded but I think that if Rock Band 2 is getting a graph so should Guitar Hero World Tour--67.34.181.210 (talk) 19:22, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

It will, once we have some confirmed songs. A number of song names have been revealed for Rock Band 2; this is not the case with World Tour. When we start getting somes from Activision or Neversoft, a graph will be added. Orcaloverbri9 (talk) 01:19, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Ah k then.--Unknownsage13 (talk) 19:13, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

On this subject, why does the table include a column for indication of master recordings when all songs are known to be masters? Orcaloverbri9 (talk) 09:44, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

IDK, I made two tables yesterday. First one just had artists and song(s) and the other had artists with unconfirmed songs.--Unknownsage13 (talk) 11:55, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Please add this to the Soundtrack section

Chris Martin of Coldplay reveals that their song Violet Hill will be "featured in the next Guitar Hero."

Source here: http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2008/05/coldplay.html 72.49.10.81 (talk) 00:28, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

That says nothing about the song being in GH4, in fact, it's better to assume that it will be a downloadable track for Guitar Hero 3, seeing as that's what the article actually says. And there's the fact that the game comes out in October while the new Coldplay album will be out in a few weeks - hardly the most timely promotional effort. 72.183.229.206 (talk) 06:12, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Chris was referring to GH3 downloadable content. Here's the link: http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/53006147.144.3.239 (talk) 21:16, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

in one of the trailers, i think chad smith is playing give it away, should we add it to the soundtrack section in the same place as blink 182's dammit? 70.78.129.251 (talk) 03:41, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Microphone Revealed

Microphone photo showed on main page for GH4! The article says nothing about a microphone, and there is nothing on the site for a rythym guitar, just 2 guitars for lead and bass. I'm not going to edit the article though, because I don't have the time, energy, or knowledge to make a correct statement.

David Cook and David Archuleta for GH4?

Cook and Archuleta mentioned on GH site David Cook and David Archuleta have been mentioned as "partnering with" GH, I'm not sure whether this refers to the adverts that were aired in American Idol, or the actual game itself, but could there be a possibility now of seeing them in the game?

This is the full quote: "Guitar Hero® is pleased to partner with and support the performances of David Cook and David Archuleta, and congratulate them on their success."

It'd be great to see them in GH4 in my opinion. McShredders (talk) 16:05, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, they both had Guitar Hero commercials during the American Idol finale. I know that really doesn't tell us much, but it shows that they're partnered with them Teancum (talk) 16:11, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

You do realize that them "partnering" with Guitar Hero is referring to the commercials, not that they will be on the game right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.255.89.106 (talk) 16:09, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Drums revealed

Joystiq reveals the drums, but I'm not familiar with image policies so I don't know how we'd go about grabbing that for use here. -- TRTX T / C 14:52, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Reference for One Armed Scissor by At The Drive-In?

The above song was said to be revealed on May 8, but I don't see a reference for it. Does anyone know where that came from? Skrutop (talk) 13:32, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Ted Nugent

While Ted Nugent has stated he do mocap for a Guitar Hero game, the interview here does not explicitly say Guitar Hero IV. Please do not add this in (though I will be adding it to the series page). --MASEM 23:20, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

He's not in Aerosmith or On Tour & I doubt he's in Metallica. So put 2 & 2 together. The Nuge will he either a boss battle(most likely) or a guest performer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.221.146.78 (talk) 03:34, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Dream Theater added to confirmed bands?

I'm familiar with their mention in Game Informer from some online posted pictures I've seen, but it never explicitly states they are in the game; the article says (and I'm paraphrasing) that for the hardcore guitar shredders that they want to have progressive bands like Dream Theater. Unless I'm missing a citation somewhere, that should be removed. 24.3.88.47 (talk) 04:20, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Agreed. swidly (talk) 21:22, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
FWIW, I have the magazine now (I started this talk point) and will quote the passage:
"We have a handful of songs that are specific to the hardcore guitar players - a few progressive bands like Dream Theater. We have to put them in the game," [GH4 project director Brian] Blight continues." -- Game Informer, June 2008, p.57
I can see how that could be construed as them being in the game and it makes sense to name check them if they already have something lined up with Dream Theater, but there is no explicit mention that they have a song in the game. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see them in as they are one of my favorite bands, but there's nothing I can find that says they are DEFINITELY in the game, and therefore I think they should be removed from the confirmed bands. GillanTheVillain (talk) 03:20, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
I have changed the language of this in this article to note that the GI preview implies Dream Theater, but they are not listed in "confirmed". --MASEM 16:38, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

"World Tour" confirmation

This doesn't need to be in the article, but I saw the name changes going on Wiki so I thought it'd be handy to have at least one place to point: Official Reveal. There's others, but this is the first I found.

It may also be a useful article for some official names of features. -- TRTX T / C 15:31, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

I have already included this name reveal in the development section (per today's announcement), probably about the same time you posted this. :-) --MASEM 15:44, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Universal Music Group Rights

I read in an issue of Nintendo Power (Vol.225, Pg.17) That due to Activision's merger with Vivendi Games that Activision would have "unrestricted access to Universal Music Group's song catalog for future Guitar Hero titles". Should we include this? Or wait for a more official announcement with regards to that. I realize that not every UMG song would be in the game, but it still feels worth mention. (76.68.96.87 (talk) 16:32, 21 May 2008 (UTC))

It's a better inclusion on the Guitar Hero (series) page, since it's generic to the title, though its effect will certainly influence this game's songlist. --MASEM 16:37, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Pricing

According to the following source:

http://www.gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=8730

The pricing has been revealed. If this is reliable, it should probably be added to the page. Shapeshift1 (talk) 03:38, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

It is ultimately listing from Gamestop. This is unreliable, since all Gamestop is doing is making sure people can place pre-orders. The actual price won't likely be known until a few months before release. --MASEM 03:49, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

PS2 make songs?

CAn the ps2 make songs as well? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.131.120.61 (talk) 00:13, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

As in, if the PS2 version has the Studio? Maybe, but there's no proof. 21655 ταλκ/01ҁ 15:43, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Bosses

On the main article page for guitar hero world tour it says that there will be bosses........ well, in the promo vid for drums, you can see an animated Travis (blink 182). I think that should be posted as a rumour at least because it seems logical. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Accent Aigu (talkcontribs) 19:11, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Travis is mentioned doing motion capture already in the article; however, this does not necessarily translate to a boss battle (maybe he guest-drums on a Blink 182 song like Bret Michels did in GH3.) --MASEM 19:51, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Plus, rumors should never be in articles, we provide information which is confirmed. 193.172.248.250 (talk) 07:05, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
It he Guitar Hero IV article in Game Informer, they confirmed the presence of boss battles, but were going to have players face of against them in a differnt way from the battle mode that they had in Guitar Hero III. ShogoFan3000 —Preceding comment was added at 13:45, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Travis Barker(Blink 182 & +44) Ted Nugent ( solo ,Damn Yankees, & FIST/Damnocracy) Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) did mo-cap and will most likely be bosses. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.221.146.78 (talk) 03:39, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Speculative. The purpose of the article is to provide information, not comment on what we think is "most likely". This is not a forum. Orcaloverbri9 (talk) 01:14, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

IV / 4

Whoever keeps removing the the also known as "guitar hero 4" thing, please stop! Guitar Hero 4 is just as common as Guitar Hero IV. They both recieve about 1.2 million hits in Google each and all major videogame press have referred to it as "4", not "IV" JayKeaton (talk) 11:10, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

While I understand where you're coming from, the fact that up to this point the series has used roman numerals for the sequels implied that the trend would continue to this one. It is not that neither Guitar Hero IV or Guitar Hero 4 redirect to here at some point, but that having to list both the numeric and the roman numeral version in the lead sentence weighs it down, and the fact that it was once called "Guitar Hero IV should make it obvious that Guitar Hero 4 is also another search term if people look for it afterwards. --MASEM 13:05, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
But it IS literally also known as Guitar Hero 4, plus it has over a million hits in Google. JayKeaton (talk) 23:44, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, we don't call Guitar Hero II "Guitar Hero 2" despite the number of hits that brings (2.5M, and "Guitar Hero 3" is 9.4M). The roman numeral implies that it could be "Guitar Hero 4" if people are google searching for it, but it otherwise clogs the lead. --MASEM 23:52, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

They said that there is not going to be boss battles but you can battle online —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.136.89.58 (talk) 23:30, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

price

thats crap that its 190 bucks yah suck on THAT! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.130.42.246 (talk) 02:31, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

You should be more apricative that the game is even going to come out. It cost money to produce a game, more importantly a game this big. They are improving this game way past that of Rock Band so it only makes sense that it would cost more. ShogoFan3000 —Preceding comment was added at 13:48, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
You tell 'em, Shogo. If anything, it's definitely worth the price; previous GH games cost 90 bucks or so, and now you're getting that times 4 (there are career modes for all four instruments) for 190 dollars. That's a $360 value for $190, nevermind the other modes like custom songs and online. Suck on that. Trogdorguy (talk) 23:15, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Page no longer protected

Just wondering why the page is no longer protected from updates. I can't say I'm well versed in the inner machinations of Wikipedia and its methods, and if this is something I could read for myself, I would appreciate a link in that direction. I just have the sinkin' feeling this page is gonna be ravaged as long as anybody can post anything. GillanTheVillain (talk) 04:10, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Hip-hop songs

Please stop adding hip-hop songs such as Crank That (Soulja Boy) and Lollipop. These songs have no guitar parts, and cannot be included. Thank you. Shapiros10 WuzHere  23:08, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Rhythm Only

The wiki article currently states that only drums, rhythm guitar and bass will be available in the studio mode, but in the screen shot shown of the mode, there are four separate editing areas, one of which says "melody." Where is a source stating EXACTLY what is included in this mode? -Rapturerocks 15:25, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Game Informer refers to studio mode having drums, rhythm and lead guitar, bass, and melody. It implied that "melody" is keyboards/other and it mentions using the melody section to emulate vocals, sort of like MIDI versions of songs. 161.133.8.248 (talk) 19:48, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
