This article hasn't been written by an English speaker and many sentences are hard to understand. I'd happily correct them if I knew what they meant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.12.236.136 (talk) 21:53, 7 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

The article still needs rewriting, although I did find it useful. By chambers does it mean cabins? If it means schooner why are the pictures of ketches? Also it needs sources.Billlion (talk) 07:09, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

It would be helpful if the article could explain the distinguishing characteristics that make a rig a Gulet and not just a schooner. A number of yachts in the List of large sailing yachts are described as gulets, e.g. Montigne, a "three-mast staysail gulet". I came here to try to answer this question, but I am still unsure. Is gulet just a synonym for schooner? --AJim (talk) 16:29, 2 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Original: The procedure of building boats today has changed very little over the centuries. The changes to the basic plank-on-frame method are superficial but significant: advanced tools now allow craftsman to design and deliver far more precision than they used to be able to by hand, and laminated epoxy materials allow for fantastic durability.

Original: A properly maintained gulet can last over thirty years. Each winter, boats need to be taken out of the water and the hulls scrubbed and given a thick coat of varnish in addition to other routine maintenance.
