Update

edit

Things have been changed. Now the jaguarundi is considered to belong to a genus of its own, that is Herpailurus, and as of 2017, the Cat Classification Taskforce of the Cat Specialist Group does not recognise any subspecies of jaguarondi.[1] Leo1pard (talk) 17:54, 22 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

If this is not a taxon (i.e. not a species nor subspecies) then the taxobox needs to be removed. --Nessie (talk) 02:27, 8 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
I've never understood this argument, although I've see it made often enough. The taxobox (not taxonbox) is an infobox showing information on the animal, not restricted to taxonomic information. Other details such as range and conservation status can be included, along with images. And even if an animal population is not recognised as a species or subspecies (largely arbitrary), it still has taxonomic information that describes it. Such populations are the equivalent of varieties in plants.   Jts1882 | talk  07:31, 8 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Domestic dogs are also a threat to Jaguarundi. 47.197.29.147 (talk) 19:33, 27 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
