Removed questionable claim

edit

I removed [1] as it's highly questionable and unsourced. As I noted [2] changing a specific claim of recent studies to the WP:weasel wordy 'some people claim' doesn't help. Nil Einne (talk) 05:52, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Categorization

This article is categorized under Gummi candies, but gumdrops, while similar, are not a subset of Gummi candy. The article on Gummi candy says it contains gelatin, whereas this article says gumdrops contain pectin, which is a contradiction.

Gumdrops contain neither gelatin nor pectin; they're mainly corn syrup.

Gummi candy is not a synonym for all kinds of jelly candies, as that article seems to imply. Gummi and gumdrops (along with all the others mentioned in this article, as well as some that are not) are different kinds of jelly candies.

Jelly candies, rather than Gummi candies, would be a better umbrella category for all the kinds of candies mentioned. Richard K. Carson (talk) 01:07, 13 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Kazvorpal:

Is there any reason you marked the "original spice flavours" with all those colours? Also with the website cited being a generic "did-you-know" website itself citing the wiki article itself as its reference I'd say the reliability is questionable at best. -PerkeleenHullu (talk) 01:17, 13 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
