Merger proposal

edit

I propose that Gungahlin Drive Extension be merged into Gungahlin Drive. The extension might have been special as it was being built, but now it is just the southern part of Gungahlin Drive and not meaningful to people outside of Canberra to be in two separate articles. I think it is notable, but that that current article buries the notability: as a road, it has no notability separate to Gungahlin Drive, but as a development project/subject of political campaigns and controversy, it was a serious issue for a long time (with plenty of sources that haven't made it into the article). I'd keep the article, but rewrite the lede and merge just the stuff about the current road (e.g. the interchanges section). (Alternatively, because Gungahlin Drive is so short, I'm not particularly opposed to it all going in there - but it needs to be rewritten either way.) Closing, given weak opposition, and no support. Will tag for improvement instead. Klbrain (talk) 20:40, 19 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
