Imparcial
editThe Article seens very negative to Gurgel why is that? The Article should be cleaned. Rocha 201.6.83.187 (talk) 00:11, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
The brazilian government never had been specially generous to Gurgel. All other car manufacturers installed in Brazil, specially Volkswagen and Fiat, have been LOTS of government favours. Gurgel did not broke because its bad management, but actually because unloyal competition from the big ones -- Ford, GM, Fiat and Volkswagen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.106.32.201 (talk) 22:01, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Article re-written.
editThe Gurgel's article as it was before was full of parcial statments, personal opinions not based on any fact ("good" and "bad" are not adjectives for an encyclopedia!), also having very imprecise statments. I think all who complained here about the article agree that it was very biased and did not reflected the real history.
I've made a general cleanup and tried to push the article toward a reasonable state of clearness, a little bit more close to the history as it happened (see references). I also removed many of the claims regarding other cars, and I will explain why:
- Uno Mille: Did not qualified as a city car as BR-800 and Supermini does. Saying Mille was more powerful and spacious that BR-800 was like saying a car was smaller than a truck. BR-800 was a city car - and by the concept of city car, it was even a big one.
- Lada Niva: Again, comparing apples and oranges, as Carajás was different from the first. Lada Niva was projected to snow conditions, and had four-wheel traction made for snow, not for mud or difficult terrains - for this situation, the Selectraction system from Carajás was much better. I think Wikipedia itself has very good information about four-wheel traction systems.
I also removed those statments because there were so much things involved in each market, in the whole Brazilian politics and in the cars themselves that you cannot just argue using a simple number. It is oversimplification.
Well, if anyone want to sugest something, want more references from some claims, please ask me.

editFor everyone which are looking for sources about Gurgel cars in English, please do NOT consider the link above as a serious reference. It uses information without providing sources, and simply ignores important facts and data.
Please consider checking Publicações (in Portuguese) or Publications (translated by Google), which contains a lot of publications related to Gurgel, from 1970 to 2000, regarding all cars, Gurgel Motores, and João Amaral itself.
Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
editCyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
