I realize that there is a "references" section but which facts can be verified with which sources? I have added the {{unreferenced}} template to the article. --...but what do you think? ~B Fizz (talk) 04:53, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Spanish and Andalusian

edit

I was wondering if it wouldn't be better to say that he was "a spanish writer" rather than "an andalusian writer", like it's written in other spanish writer's articles. -Lost.in.translation

It might be because "Spanish writer" isn't entirely clear; an English speaker might understand that it describes his language, but not necessarily his country. I personally find either way to be acceptable, though Andalusian should probably be wikilinked, if used. ...comments? ~BFizz 04:13, 9 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

A post-romanticist writer?

edit

Bécquers short stories show all the clasical traits of romanticist writings. And he most certanly wasn´t a realist writer. Consequently I would consider him a romanticist writer. Romanticism came pretty late to Spain (with exeception of Cadalsos "Noches lugubres"). This point should at least be discussed in the aritcle.

He was a Romanticist poet and not Post-Romanticist.

I agree. JamesOredan (talk) 23:38, 1 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Confusing sentence - to rewrite?

edit

Regarding the reason for Casta's taking up with another man, the page presently reads:

"...something that was later blamed on Bécquer’s trips and lack of attention by Casta’s acquaintances."

This suggests that better attention on the part of her acquaintances might have prevented her extramarital straying, though this leaves the blaming agent undefined. However, if the lack of attention was on the part of her husband, it would be better stated:

"...which Casta's acquaintances later blamed on Bécquer’s trips and lack of attention to her." (or something of this sort.)

As this relates to content, the suggested change requires confirmation by an editor familiar with this detail of the couple's relationship. -- Deborahjay (talk) 22:47, 23 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
