A fact from Gusty Spence appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 16 May 2011 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that imprisoned Ulster Volunteer Force leader Gusty Spence was "kidnapped" by his own men after being granted two days' leave to attend his daughter's wedding?

The article is too short. It does not even say when he assumed over-all command of the UVF. It really could do with expansion. There were lower-ranking paramilitaries who have much longer articles.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 16:42, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
According to this it was an East Belfast hospital. My guess would be the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald as I can't think of any others but without a source actually saying so we'll have to leave it as just a hospital. Nothing about the actual illness just yet. Keresaspa (talk) 19:20, 25 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
I went ahead and merged the info about his father and siblings into the Early Life section, butleft the part about his wife and children in the Personal Life section. How does it look?--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 06:10, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

This article needs to be reassessed as it's clearly expanded and improved since its earlier Start-class rating. I think it definitely merits a B-class.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 15:40, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
For a B-Class rating for Biography, some minor editing is needed: make the spelling of English words consistent with either American or British spelling, cleanup redundancies, and footnotes usually are located right after a punctuation mark. You might expand the lead (WP:LEAD) to two paragraphs, especially making clear in the lead which country he was a leader and politician. With these minor fixes, the article could be reassessed as a B-Class for Biography.Gmcbjames (talk) 16:28, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Everything suggested now done apart from "cleanup redundancies" - you will need to more specific on that one as I'm not sure what you have in mind. Keresaspa (talk) 01:40, 4 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
