- Agree - the OED doesn't even give "gyn" as a word. It's etymology for "gin" shows "gyn" as an obsolete (1500's) variant spelling. On-line dictionaries invariably define "gyn" as short for gynecologist. This article should be editted to use the "gin" spelling, showing "gyn" as a variant. The article title should be similarly updated. (and the reference "Bell's Gyn" should be corrected to use the "gin" spelling, since that's how it's spelled in that reference).
