Stained glass at Debre Libanos
  • ... that Hungarians Gyula Bajó and Endre Hevizi, who went on to design stained glass for the Debre Libanos monastery (pictured), worked as labourers in a British pottery after the Second World War? Source: "Hungarian-born artist Gyula Bajó (1907-1984) held his first exhibition in Budapest in 1932 and received a doctorate in art in 1942, after which he sought refuge in England. He and fellow Hungarian artist and architect Endre Hevezi (1923-2017) were taken on as labourers for the pottery firm of Booths and Colcloughs in Stoke in 1948." from: "The history behind two Stevenage public murals - one at Primark - now protected with listed status". The Comet. 26 May 2022. Retrieved 5 September 2023. and "Bajó and Hevezi also collaborated on a glass mosaic mural for the Greek state tourist office on London’s Regent Street, and a series of mosaics and stained glass windows for a monastery at Debre Libanos, Ethiopia, which were exhibited in London’s Festival Hall in April 1965 and a double-page spread in the Illustrated London News." from: "Mosaic mural at former department store of Ipswich Industrial Co-operative Society, Non Civil Parish - 1485316". @Dumelow: Good work on both articles. There are minor paraphrasing issues with both pages, but this will be good to go after these issues are fixed. Epicgenius (talk) 23:12, 6 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the review Epicgenius, I've done some rewording, should just be proper names and common phrases now that would be awkward to reword - Dumelow (talk) 20:45, 7 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
