- As opposed to many other enzymes where there may be several human isozymes with the same EC number (several to one relationship) or multifunctional enzymes with more than one EC number (one to several relationship), there is a one-to-one correspondence between 3-hydroxyisobutyrate dehydrogenase enzyme and the human variant (see ExPASy). Hence this merger is appropriate. Furthermore I have been bold and went ahead and merged the two articles. Boghog (talk) 20:31, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
