Unless we plan on expanding Household International with the controversies surrounding it before the acquisition by HSBC [1], a merger is proposed. -- Emana (talk) 05:09, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

No issues if you change the name Household International to its complete name "Household Bank Illinois Operations" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Randhirplease (talkcontribs) 08:15, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Review of HFC

I opened a home equity Line of Credit with them in 2006. The rate was little bit higher than the average, however, they assured that after 3 months of good payment history my rate could be reduced. After 3 months, 6 months, 1 year and now 2 years of exceptional good payment history, they still can not reduce my rate. I receive a ton of calls from them asking if I will come in and take a look at some other programs that they have, other programs to put more "$ in my wallet". I have told them that untill they can lower my interest rate, I would prefer to not hear from them. They left me alone for a few months, and then I just recently received another phone call. After I went through the whole story and told them the only way I was interested in doing anything was if they could lower the interest rate. I was assured by Bob Fox, that there was definetly something that we could do. He asked me again what is my main goal and I responded..."to lower my interest rate on my current loan". I was then asked to bring in a ton of documentation (which took time for me to gather), and was put on the phone with his boss' boss Joe. Joe than proceeded to ask me what my main goal is...again I reponded "to lower my interest rate on my current loan".

So after I arrange to leave work early, gather the paperwork, pick up my husband and son (too short notice for a babysitter), I proceed to my local HFC office, in Greensburg, and again am asked the same questions about my goal. I again answered with "to lower my interest rate on my current loan", but guess what, there was nothing the could do, unless I wanted to refinance my entire house with my home equity at a high rate. It was a complete waste of time, and I felt as if, I just came in so that Bob Fox could meet his quota of clients to get into his office that month. I was extremly disappointed with how many times I offered "My Goal" and how many times they assured me this would happen. In their office one of the things they stand by is to "Keep their word", this my friends, they did not do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.161.199.50 (talk) 16:55, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

This is probably one of the worst companies in human history. It was my understanding that they were kicked out of the United States. Is that true?

Customer Service

Some of the worst Customer Service known to the Finance industry. Don't Believe me try calling their Customer Service number at 1-800-418-1888 and try to talk to a real person. I have been getting harassed by several calls a day for the past 3 years! When I have been lucky enough to get a customer service rep they tell me they have no record of my phone number. The Calls still continue to this day.
