Ha Dabateer → Hada Bateer – This is a Mongolian name, which is technically a mononym since Mongolians traditionally don't use surnames. If we have to add a space since this is what the world culture demands now, we have to do it correctly. "Hada" ("Khad", meaning "Rock" or "Crag") and "Bateer" ("Baatar", meaning "warrior", see Baghatur) are recognizable words in Mongolian. "Ha" and "Dabateer" are not. The mistake may have originated from the fact that he is a Chinese national, and "Ha" is indeed a Chinese surname. However, "Dabateer" is not possibly a Chinese given name, which always contains 1–3 syllables (characters), never 4. (Unlike in English, there are actually 2 syllables in "-teer" if it's rendered into Chinese). - Support per Timmyshin's rationale. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:36, 22 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
- Support per nominator and previous move of A Latangadasu to Alatan Gadasu. Though I'm not sure whether it should be Hada Bateer (splitting at the morpheme boundaries, per [1]) or Hadabateer (running the words together, per [2], since as the nominator notes this is a mononym, not given name+surname nor vice versa). Whatever we decide, similar treatment should apply to other mangled names like Sai Yinjirigala, Wu Ritubilige, etc. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 12:42, 22 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
- Oppose based on WP:COMMONNAME. "Ha Dabateer" is what is used by the Olympics[3] and other sports-related sites[4][5] -- NoCOBOL (talk) 12:59, 22 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
- It's one name; why not move it to Hadabateer instead of inserting an OR space? (cf. Menggenjimisu, Serengdongrub, Amguulan and nb WP:PINYIN, Wikipedia's house style). — AjaxSmack 02:10, 24 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
- Oppose per NoCOBOL who has cited sources using the name in the current title. No reliable English language sources have been cited with usage supporting the proposed title. --В²C ☎ 21:26, 7 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
