Merge with Apple Intel Transition?
Given than OSx86 is just one of many unofficial names for the platform, would it not be more appropriate to merge relevent sections of this article with Apple Intel transition? --Steven Fisher 05:20, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree. OSx86 isn't the name of the platform, it's the name of the project to get Mac OS X running on arbitrary PCs. (The platform, as far as I can tell, is called IBM -- Intel Based Macintosh :) ) --Shinyplasticbag 04:37, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- I can see that. If so, this article should probably be more focused on the unofficial project. The first paragraph in particular needs to be rewritten. Does that make sense? --Steven Fisher 17:42, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- I also disagree. Though the name "OSx86" sounds considerably incorrect it has been accepted by most of the PC community as the term for running OS X on non-Apple hardware, not OS X transitioning from PowerPC to Intel. (JE 23:38, 1 February 2006 (UTC))
- Alright then. I had never heard it before. --Steven Fisher 00:36, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
- Disagree. --AlanH 00:43, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
