13th century
  • "By 1235 the park of Hadleigh had been formed by the castle ...". This isn't quite right, as the castle didn't do any forming. Does "by" here mean "close to" or "surrounding" perhaps?
Yep - changed. Hchc2009 (talk) 14:46, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • "... but the castle was also associated with the Radleigh, Thundersley and Eastwood Parks". In what way was the castle associated with these other parks? It surely couldn't have been in them all.
I've tweaked the wording. Hchc2009 (talk) 14:46, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • "This first castle was probably of an octagonal design ...". By now we've forgotten what "this" is referring back to.
Alas, probably true. Altered! Hchc2009 (talk) 14:46, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • "... protected by square and semi-circular mural towers, with a barbican protecting the eastern entrance. Could we perhaps change that to "guarding the eastern entrance", to avoid the repetition of "protect"?

  • "De Burgh finally fell out of favour with the Henry III ...".
Changed. 14:46, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
  • "A new 17 metre by 9 metre (56 foot by 30 foot) wide hall ...". It couldn't possibly have been 56 foot x 30 foot wide. Presumably it was 30' wide and 56' long?

14th century
  • "... leading to a period of renewal and rebuilding under his reign". Presumably that should be "during his reign"?

"... and repairing some of the castles walls". Either "castle walls" or "castles' walls", but not "castle walls".

15th–19h centuries
  • "... it formed part of the dower of three of his wives, including Catherine of Aragon, Anne of Cleves, and Catherine Parr". Why "including", when all three are listed?
Changed - I remember the editing of this bit now, was combining various bits! Hchc2009 (talk) 14:46, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • "Rich dismantled the castle for the value of its stone, primarily between 1550 and 1575 ...". But he didn't buy it until 1551.
Indeed (work in the 1970s produced the 1550 date from pottery evidence, but as you say, the 1551 is given in the docu sources).Hchc2009 (talk) 14:46, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • Should citation #9 (Alexander and West) be Alexander and Westlake?
I'm sure Westlake would prefer it that way. Changed! Hchc2009 (talk) 14:46, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
