Plant hairs

In botany, the use of the word hair to describe certain features on plants is both common, important as a descriptor and universally accepted. There are a number of wikipedia pages that use the term plant hairs. The word trichome is a general term that includes a number of plant elements, including those described as hairs, but it is a general term, not the specific term for plant hairs.
