Merger Proposal

edit

The term "half shaft" is an industry term for a drive axle, most commonly used when discussing front wheel drive vehicles; in that sense, it is often also called a drive shaft as this article initially indicated. On rear wheel drive vehicles with rigid differential mounting and independent rear suspension, all (or at least most) axles are half shafts.

I don't personally thing there is enough subject matter to discuss half shafts as an independent page when they are simply drive axles, and the drive axle section on the axle page is so short as is. I believe this page should be merged or simply redirected to the drive axle section on the axle page until there is more material. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.61.195.236 (talk) 19:23, 4 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I concur. The item described here is just another name for a driveshaft. Merge with driveshaft IMO -ALLOCKE|talk 22:07, 5 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
