Our understanding of hall algebras has considerably advanced since Hall

edit

As of 2023, the vast majority of the time someone says Hall algebra they mean something more general than for finite abelian groups. Usually it refers to a quiver but sometimes a curve. Also there are cohomological and K theoretic versions that deserve at least some mention. ( Maybe a new article for those?) I propose (and am willing to take on supposing no serious opposition) an update to this article to make reference to more general hall algebras that are more often discussed nowadays.
