Records not set
editQuick reminder, which I'm putting here simply for convenience: Hampshire's 610-run thrashing of Cardiff UCCE a couple of days ago is not a record, as it is a Friendly Match without first-class status. Had it been f-c, it would have been Hants' biggest margin of runs victory by a huge margin. But it wasn't, so it isn't! Loganberry (Talk) 14:34, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Pipes
editIs there any reason why there's two pipes next to Daren Powell's bowling style or is it s typo. 212.140.167.98 00:38, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Daren Powell
editShould in fact, Daren Powell be removed as a "current" player? He was only there for part of the 2007 season - and with only one overseas player permitted for 2008 (Warne), he is unlikely to return in 2008. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.145.250.97 (talk) 17:48, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Capacity
editI don't know the official capacity of the rose bowl but in its current state i am pretty certain it does not hold 22,000. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.67.160.180 (talk) 21:47, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
Notable Players
edit"The following Hampshire players have had an impact in international cricket, or have had notable careers with the club"
So why is Dominic Thornely listed? He's never played international cricket and his impact in his one season at Hampshire was minimal. This section, by its very nature, is subjective but the likes of Chris Smith, Trevor Jesty and Butch White have all played international cricket and had a very big impact on Hampshire. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.185.144.120 (talk) 01:25, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
Page name
edit"Hampshire County Cricket Club" is no longer the name of the team - and hasn't been for some years. I suggest the page is renamed Hampshire Cricket. There also needs to be a clearer explanation in the introduction copy about why the same team can be referred to as Hampshire Cricket and Hampshire Royals. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bugg t (talk • contribs) 09:46, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Historic County
editIs it right the say the team represents the "historic county"? The historic county includes Bournemouth, which is now represented by Dorset (and Dean Court cricket ground is used by Dorset). Jopal22 (talk) 07:31, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- Short answer is yes. Long answer - the historic counties represent as best as possible the counties as they were when most of the county teams were created in the 19th Century. Bournemouth is not represented by Dorset. It was at one point in the administrative county of Hampshire. Then in 1974 it was transferred to Dorset. Now it is a Unitary Authority not part of either county, although it is within the ceremonial county of Dorset. Other examples: Gloucestershire now play within the County of Bristol, Middlesex and Surrey play within London Boroughs, Lancashire play in Manchester Metropolitan District and the list goes on. So do you see the problem? The fact that Dorset play games outside the area of the Historical County of Dorset is what is a bit odd. I imagine they do it as the ground is better than anything within the boundaries! But they are either ignoring or are unaware of the significance of this. XrysD TALK 18:14, 17 October 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks! Good answer. Jopal22 (talk) 18:36, 17 October 2019 (UTC)
