Brazil vs. Hungary, 08/11

edit

The report linked says the score was 28-28, however the game was actually 28-29 -- Hungary scored a goal on the last second (literally). I know the site of the report says it's "official", but is it based on the report that the referees make during the game? I watched that game and now I'm quite confused. --Presto K. Nevermind, my mistake. They did score a goal on the last second, but it was the 28th goal, not the 29th. --Presto K. (talk) 05:46, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Russia v France, 19/08

edit

I don't know whether it's worth noting here, but France's 31-32 defeat to Russia in the quarter-finals was controversial. France had won the match in the first extra time, but the winning goal was disallowed; French commentators on France 2 were furious, saying it shouldn't have been. Commentators called the referees "utterly, grossly incompetent" for an incredible number of mistakes; they continuously described the referees as "incompetent", and said they had "completely lost track of what was going on", more times than I could count (I was watching the match). An article published by France 2 denounced "one-sided refereeing".[1] The French coach has called the referees "rubbish", and the French handball federation has appealed against at two of their rulings. (AFP, Reuters.) A spokesman for the French handball federation has said: "Parmi les nombreuses erreurs qui ont émaillé le match, nous avons relevé deux fautes techniques des arbitres (les Chinoises Fengjuan Liu et Shuyong Liu) qui auraient pu changer le résultat final". ("Among the many errors that marked the match, we've picked up two technical mistakes by the referees which could have altered the result.") You can watch a replay of the end of the match, which the French commentaries, here. Aridd (talk) 17:47, 19 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I started doing them, but didn't have the patience to finish. As a result, they're kinda messy right now, but it is basically because the information is not in the template yet. If you feel like helping, please read the talk pages: women/men. --Presto K. (talk) 09:39, 23 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
