Requested move

edit

This is a move request whose outcome potentially affects a hundred or more articles, specifically almost all of those listed at List of Kodokan Judo techniques and List of Danzan-ryū techniques, and likely many more. The reason for the move is that names of martial arts techniques should be treated like common nouns, and not like proper nouns. That is, they should not be capitalized. For a project guideline where this was decided, see WP:WPMA#Articles about techniques. At the very least, the article should be moved to Hane goshi. As a secondary issue, it should be considered whether or not the term should look more like the compound word that it is. Therefore, the article could also be moved to either Hane-goshi or Hanegoshi. Regarding these last two suggestions (but not the first), the manner in which these commonly appear in judo publications should govern. Bradford44 18:59, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Support. Hanegoshi is one word, even compound. Both candidates are okay with me. --Aphaia 04:48, 20 September 2007 (UTC)--Aphaia 04:48, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Done. Moved to Hane goshi per what I could tell from Google etc; "Hane goshi" is used a lot more than "Hanegoshi" or "Hane-goshi". Redirects should cover the naming issues, although feel free to update all the Hane Goshi ones as you feel fit. Neil  10:08, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
