editIs the expression ever used for cameras?
"Hanging fire" has obviously become a phrase outside its technical use? Such as the following phrase:
"A shoal of night-stars hang fire in the nets"

Incontinence
editThe incontinence thing has remained here too long without citation. While I have never heard this, and it very well may be true, the subject matter, without citation, implies it's falsehood ( I was going to say that it is crap but I'm not one to pun.)
