editThere are so many great images of Hank, why not include one of them on his Bio? The current image is rather dark. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.178.134.251 (talk) 01:56, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Hank's Original Stratocaster
editJust a few observations, from what I can gather in 1959 the standard colour for strats was sunburst, so the colour of the guitar, be it Flamingo Pink as Hank and Bruce recall it being, or Fiesta red would have been a Fender Custom colour along with Surf Green and the like. Also the neck being a birds eye maple, a pronounced figureing in the wood caused I believe by a parasite, would also be non standard the highest grade of figureing is triple A? which from what I can gather is only used on very expensive guitars, this along with the gold plated hardware means this was for the time a very high end Fender guitar, a custom guitar in fact. It must have been a revelation in sound and tone compared to the cheap Antoria Guitar Hank was playing previously. Yes it was the first Stratocaster in the UK but it was also one of the finest instruments made by Fender at that time, some thing that is often over looked or not even thought about by Hanks many fans. 81.111.126.82 (talk) 03:19, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

Much more information is needed about Hank Marvin's recent history. It isn't until the last sentence that we are told Hank split from The Shadows at all, let alone for 13 years. On the whole, this article is fairly well-written but it's seriously incomplete - Goldkill.
== This is a biography? == The article appears to focus primarily upon Marvin's guitars and equipment, followed by his relationships. Where is the focus upon his actual biography? Not the dry facts, but one showing his rise to becoming a musician of such charismatic stage presence and performance-- influencing many notable musicians, including Mark Knopfler, Rory Gallagher, and others? In addition, I think the biographical info should be presented first in the article chronologically, and after that, the sections on guitars and equipment, followed by his personal life. The way things are arranged right now, it's easy for the reader to lose focus, and it's too easy when editing such a piece to place the same info twuce--redundancy. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 22:57, 1 July 2011 (UTC) |

Unique Sound
editSurprised to see this article didn't attempt to describe Hank's unique sound. I've had a go, but I'm sure someone else can improve this. Stub Mandrel (talk) 19:45, 17 February 2019 (UTC)

Career with The Shadows
editThe article goes straight from his first meeting with Cliff to his solo career after quitting The Shadows at least ten years later. That's leaving out a big part of his career. Valetude (talk) 09:02, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
