As I Remember Him, The Biography of R.S.
editAs I Remember Him: The Biography of R.S. won a National Book Award, favorite 1940 non-fiction book. There is one long review at NeglectedBooks (review at neglectedbooks). Do we know anything about the source?
As I Remember Him is one of the more unusual experiments in autobiography. The book is written in two voices: one of the unnamed author, the other of R.S. himself. The author sets R.S.' material in context or comments–not always positively–upon it.
Rearrangement
edit- Edit history: divide in three sections; rearrange existing prose to fit (see Talk)
While explaining the National Book Award (posth.) for his autobiography, I rearranged the existing prose in three sections, using two headings Life and Career. In this I split one paragraph that was attributed to a source, and duplicated the attribution. The material now in three unattributed short paragraphs just before and after heading "Career" was previously unattributed. --P64 (talk) 22:11, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
