Merger proposal

edit

It has been suggested that this article be merged with the Harimau Muda article. I strongly disagree with this proposal. The two teams are separate entities, even though the are made up largely of the same players. Harimau Muda plays as a club team in Malaysia's domestic leagues. In that capacity they are not the national team, but play on the same basis as any other club. The Malaysia national under-20 football team, while comprising mainly the same players, is a separate entity from Harimau Muda when it represents Malaysia in international matches against other countries. It would be inappropriate to list the results of Harimau Muda in domestic tournaments and the Malaysia national under-20 team in international games on the same page as this would imply that they compete in the same basis in both domestic and international football. If a club team in another country happened to also provide most of the players for the national team, Wikipedia would not merge the articles about the club and the national team. The same should apply here. Singopo (talk) 03:34, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
