Merger Proposal
editI believe Harmonic damper and Harmonic balancer should be merged. They are basically two names for the same thing, and it's confusing to have two different pages. 24.49.33.58 (talk) 16:41, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
- Merge to harmonic damper. They damp vibrations, they don't "balance" anything. Andy Dingley (talk) 00:00, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

"Modern (roughly 1988+) DOHC, SOHC flat 4, I4, flat 6, I6, V6, flat 8, and flat-plane V8 have no need for this device." I own a 3.8L V6 Dodge engine on a 2006 vehicle and it has a harmonic damper. Is there a source for this statement? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.226.233.206 (talk) 03:44, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
