Spelling of last name
editDuring entire professional career, Furth went by "Furth" instead of "Fürth", I'll fix the article to reflect this noting that his name at birth was "Harald Fürth". cffk (talk) 16:30, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

- Support I'm the editor requesting this change. During Furth's entire professional career (the reason he was a Wikipedia page in the first place), he went by "Harold Furth" or "Harold P. Furth". All the articles by him and about him (including his obituaries) used the same appellation. His grave stone says "Harold P. Furth". Following WP:UCRN, "Harold Furth" should be the name of this page with "Harold Fürth" as a redirect. This is the reverse of the current situation. cffk (talk) 22:55, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
- Nom's don't usually vote. But I see that you tried to make this move as an uncontroversial technical move and someone contested it. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:42, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nomination and per WP:COMMONNAME. Analogous to Zbigniew Brzeziński who dropped the Polish diacritic when he became an American citizen. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 06:35, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
- Who contested? ..thinking back to how we stripped Mónica Puig of her Spanish name. Perhaps we should fix back that article before this one. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:42, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
- Support @Cffk: @In ictu oculi:, I was the one who contested because I was presented with an incomplete rationale. Had I known the rationale, I would have performed the move. All sources leave out the accent mark. Scorpions13256 (talk) 19:40, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
