editThis article was created by User:Themathmusicninja, seemingly just to facilitate a split, which was not discussed or had no consensus. The material in the article, one of the sections of Keyboard concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, was entirely created by me. At the time of the split, the editor who created the new article had the username User:Woofwoofnose: he requested for it to be renamed to Themathmusicninja a few months after the split.
I have tried to clean up the move as far as possible; but the way the split happened and the idea of misappropriating my own content is unsettling. The contributions of Woofwoofnose or Themathmusicninja, including their user pages, are perplexing. Mathsci (talk) 19:48, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
Contradiction
editThe opening paragraph says the concerto was composed between 1738 and 1739, but the next paragraph says that the earliest manuscript dates from 1734. Is it possible to sort this out? Macspaunday (talk) 13:26, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- No, the article says Bach wrote it down in his own handwriting around 1738 but we can presume it was composed before 1734 in a now lost version. I don't see a contradiction though the author could have been clearer. 68.225.241.130 (talk) 04:28, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
Harpsichord or Piano
editBWV 1052 in many records is labeled Piano Concerto. And in the audio in this wiki it clearly sounds like a piano and not like a Harpsichord. It would be good to check this. 191.113.140.133 (talk) 03:24, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
- The audio clearly identifies the rendition as being piano. 68.225.241.130 (talk) 04:29, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
