Birthplace of Bloody Mary?

edit

I left this fact in because I do have a citation, but I'm not sure I trust it. See the Bloody Mary (cocktail) History section and talk page, where another commenter notes "an entertaining blog entry by Barry Popik". This seems an open question at the moment but I think I'm leaning towards this fact being incorrect. I'll note there's no controversy I've seen about this being the birthplace of The Monkey Gland -- that fact seems correct. B.S. Lawrence (talk) 18:02, 22 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

These are branches

edit

First there was a bar in New York, then the branch in Paris, and many other branches throughout Europe. http://www.lindner.de/de/MP/FBOutletStor/harry_new_york_bar--Revery (talk) 11:59, 6 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Family name

edit

Harry's surname was spelled McElhone, not MacElhone. He was my great-uncle. I have copies of his signature and he always wrote McElhone. The spelling on his family tree is McElhone throughout. The MacElhone spelling is used now for the current bar website etc. in France because the French have difficulty in reading/pronouncing it without the 'a' being written.
