Someone claiming to be Midgley's grandson posted to the wikien-l today, saying that Midgley was anti-Franco, and citing The Politics of Frustration: Harry Midgley and the failure of Labour in Northern Ireland, Graham Walker, Manchester University Press. It seems extremely unlikely to me that a politician from the labour movement (especially a Northern Irish unionist, who I assume was a protestant) would have supported Franco. Nationalist parties in Catholic countries tended to support Franco, which would make it more likely that the Nationalist Party stood against him because of his opposition to Franco. Since I don't have the book to check, I've just removed all mention of Franco. --ajn (talk) 08:05, 20 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
