Use of first name

edit

This article often uses the familiar "Harry" by itself. Assuming that is not a patronymic, I think it is unencyclopedic. However, I don't know the Indonesian customs and recognize this might be the way it is done. 7&6=thirteen () 13:44, 27 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Some WikiProjects have a style guide saying to use given name e.g. Thailand's. I couldn't find one for Indonesia. However, Amir Hamzah is an Indonesian bio that is an FA and uses his given name; it also says as much with its {{Indonesian name}} hatnote.—Bagumba (talk) 04:58, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Posthumous rank

edit

The main text of the article says that Setyawan would become a first admiral posthumously but the infobox has him as a posthumous commodore. Which one is it? Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 22:06, 8 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Pickersgill-Cunliffe: his posthumously rank in Indonesian is "Laksamana Pertama" (lit. "First Admiral", a one-star rank, Rear Admiral or Commodore). So it was basically the same rank, but yea.. for consistency, we should pick either one of those. Ckfasdf (talk) 05:51, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
